As the university year has come to an end, our students are off to enjoy their summer holiday.

First stop in Somerset this summer is the world famous Glastonbury Music Festival where thousands gather to enjoy some of best entertainers and soak up the atmosphere alongside their friends.

After Glastonbury has finished, the summer doesn’t stop there, with plenty more activities to try, places to explore and coastlines to admire.

Somerset offers activities for everyone to experience; from downhill mountain biking on the stunning Quantock hills, to enjoying a delicious cream tea in the beautiful settings at Hestercombe Gardens.

  • Buy locally produced food at the lively farmers markets
  • Star-gaze on Exmoor
  • Take a guided tours around Sheppy’s Cider Farm
  • Visit Cheddar Gorge and Caves
  • Explore Dunster Castle
  • Visit a working water mill
  • Enjoy a boat trip
  • Play ten pin bowling and grab a meal at the Hollywood Bowl
