Entrepreneurial students set up succesful company

CompReece Manser and James Bispham are currently studying BSc (Hons) Computer Games Technology. Before they have even graduated from the course, they are already working hard to set themselves up for a successful future within the computing industry.

The two students have worked collaboratively to set up their own interactive media company www.geesegames.co.uk, and have already been commissioned to work on two projects. The first was commissioned by leading manufacturing company Powrmatic to create an interactive 3D virtual walkthrough of their product range, which can be viewed here.

Following this success, Geese Games have since been commissioned by Somerset College to create a full virtual rendering of the College’s brand new Art & Design building, which is currently under construction. (Pictured are Reece and James outside the Art & Design renovation project)

Graduating into employment

IconographyKyle Griffiths only recently achieved a degree in Computing and Internet Technologies but secured employment straight away with Iconography in Ilminster. The Somerset-based website design and ecommerce agency, offer design and build solutions along with other supporting services such as e-marketing, hosting, email, support and maintenance.

Kyle said, “I found out about the job through the College - my tutor received an email from the company looking for a web developer. Having just finished my course, I needed a junior role to get me started in employment, so I applied and got the job. I'm really enjoying working at Iconography. It's great to get an understanding of the industry, work as part of a supportive team and contribute to the creative process.” (Pictured: Kyle Griffiths and Michael Pratt, Director of Iconography)
