Applying to BTC

We're delighted you have chosen to join us and look forward to receiving your application.

Applying is really easy. You can either apply via our website or by printing off the application form and posting it to us.

Whether you’re applying online or using the paper form, we advise that you submit your application by the end of January in order to secure your place. If you change your mind and want to apply for another course, there’s no need to fill in an additional form, simply email our Admissions team at admissions@btc.ac.uk or call 01278 441368.

To help you apply online, we've laid out step-by-step instructions on our How to Apply. Alternatively, please watch Vicky as she takes you through the steps in the video below.

To apply online, simply find the course you’re interested in, choose the campus then click on the 'Apply' button to add it to your basket. You can then follow the steps to complete your application or return to add another course. When you’re happy with your choices and have filled in the necessary information, you can submit the form. You’ll receive an email notification and we’ll get in touch to arrange your interview.

Please provide us with an email address that you regularly check, your school’s name and a contact number. It’s important we’re able to get in touch with you to arrange your interview and send you important information.

If you’re applying for an Apprenticeship, please also apply for a full-time Study Programme incase you don’t find an employer looking for an Apprentice before September. That way you can start College and transfer to an Apprenticeship as soon as you secure a job role and the employer has been vetted.

Paper Application Forms

If you prefer to use a paper form, you’ll find one at the back of your School Leavers’ Prospectus, or you can download a copy of the application form and print it off. Forms are also available from the College or your Careers Teacher.

Interviews

The sooner you apply, the sooner you will receive an interview. Your interview is an informal chat with a tutor about your successes at school, your aspirations and future plans. This will be over the phone and following a successful telephone interview, the tutor will ask our Admissions team to send you an offer. Find out more about the interview process and how to prepare
